We were honoured to welcome German Ambassador David Gill and his lovely wife, Sheila Shrivastava, to Burnside Autocyl for a special visit that celebrated not only our work but also the strong and lasting relationship we share with Germany.
Germany has long been a key market for Burnside Autocyl and we greatly value the long-term relationships and cooperation we enjoy with our German customers. This visit was a meaningful opportunity to reflect on those connections and to showcase the dedication and expertise of our team.
During their time with us, the Ambassador and Mrs. Shrivastava met with many of our colleagues and experienced first-hand the passion and pride that define our company.
Following the visit, Ambassador Gill shared some very kind words:
“A big thank you for the wonderful visit to Burnside Autocyl. Sheila and I had a fantastic time at your company and were truly impressed by the enthusiasm, engineering expertise, courage, perseverance, and success of Burnside.
We felt very warmly welcomed and greatly appreciated having the opportunity to meet so many colleagues during the tour. It was clear that they all feel a strong sense of belonging to the company family.
Thank you to you and your colleagues for taking so much time and putting so much thought into the preparation to make this visit so impressive and memorable.”
We were also delighted to present the Ambassador with a selection of locally sourced gifts as a token of our appreciation. These included a custom-engraved board made from Tullow beechwood, crafted by Ballyshane, along with a selection of Coolattin Cheddar showcasing some of the finest produce and craftsmanship from our region.
Our team were delighted in turn to receive a thoughtful gift from the German Embassy to mark the visit & to encourage the passion that exists within our team for German language and culture.

Visits like this highlight the importance of international partnerships and reinforce the strong ties between Ireland and Germany. We look forward to continuing to build on our relationships within the German market in the years ahead.
